Vibration Analysis |
Using state-of-the-art computer methods, DynaTech can perform vibration analysis to accurately determine natural frequencies, mode shapes, forced response, and stress distributions. Specific areas of expertise include:
| Rotor Dynamics DynaTech is very experienced in the accurate prediction of the lateral and torsional dynamics of multi-shaft rotating systems. Using the company's state-of-the-art analysis code FEMRDYN (Finite Element Multi-shaft Rotor Dynamics), calculations such as critical speeds, stability, and damped steady-state or transient response can be quickly and accurately performed. Although this code is capable of analyzing any type of rotating equipment, such as pumps, motors, and generators, the multi-shaft feature makes FEMRDYN particularly well-suited to gas turbines and similar high-technology machines. To support the rotor dynamic calculations, DynaTech can determine the dynamic coefficients and provide design support for typical supports used with rotating equipment, including fluid film and rolling element bearings. Special analysis procedures are included directly in FEMRDYN to predict the response of rotor dynamic systems using magnetic bearings and squeeze film supports. |

Finite Element Component Analysis In addition to the system level predictive capability with rotor dynamics, DynaTech is also well versed in the analysis of individual machine components, such as blades, disks, shafts, and supports. To perform such calculations, we use the general purpose finite element analysis package MSC/NASTRAN for Windows. Utilizing this program, we can perform both dynamic and static analyses, which in many instances are interrelated with rotating equipment. |
